Sandstorms Caused by Desertification

Desertification is a process of soil degradation, reduction of vegetation cover, and deterioration of land. As vegetation disappears, the exposed soil becomes highly vulnerable to wind erosion. During strong winds, large amounts of sand and dust are lifted into the air, resulting in sandstorms. This phenomenon is driven by multiple factors, including increasing aridity, climate change, overgrazing, and the loss of forests and other vegetation.
